At launch we will be using the following parameters (some of these have been adjusted based on feedback from the Beta):

Farming will commence at launch time, while trading for $SHELL and $GEM will be unlocked approximately one hour prior to launch. There is no specific time in order to avoid bot sniping — we will execute the single-use function to unlock trading and make the announcement on our social channels.

NFTs on Clam Island will NOT be immediately tradeable on third party marketplaces at launch. In short, this is due to complexities with ensuring compatibility with real 3D (not GIFs or videos) NFTs. However, we expect to implement the solution to make Clam Island NFTs fully compatible with third party NFT marketplaces within several weeks of launching. In the meantime, the NFTs can still be used on our platform (farming Pearls with Clams, boosting yield farming rewards with Clams and Pearls etc).

As we are launching a completely novel yield farming model, while the parameters above are the result of careful simulations, once we are live we may need to make adjustments based on demand and actual usage of our platform.

Key contracts will therefore NOT be timelocked in the first 48 hours following launch. A 6 hour timelock will be applied thereafter, and we will assess an appropriate time to move the timelock to a longer period depending on how things go following launch.

We understand that some yield farmers may be concerned with security in the period without a timelock, but please remember that this project is the culmination of over 7 months of hard work, our founders are fully doxxed to Tachyon (which is the incubator arm of Consensys), and 2 out of 3 of our founders are also publicly doxxed. We are here for the long haul, and we are determined to see Clam Island go where no yield farm has gone before.
